The following posts cover the month or so of my "awakening" to the fact they way my family operates is very dysfunctional and led to my having to make a change.

  1. Hi OAD!

I remember you from the NGE forum - your blog is going from strength to strength - well done!
Just thought you might like to know I've done a website/forum for DONMs - I was wondering if a) you'd allow me to link to your blog from it, b) you'd be interested in linking to it from your blog and c) If you would like to check it out for yourself.
The website is www.daughtersofnarcissisticmothers.com and the forum is www.daughtersofnarcissisticmothers.com/discuss.
You can contact me via the website with your answers to this query. I look forward to hearing from you!
    All best, Danu

  2. Thank you for creating this blog. I just recently discovered that I am the typical scapegoat child to an N mother.

I had no idea that this was this common. I always wanted to leave my family, now, thanks to blogs like yours, I realize that I'm not the crazy one.

Thanks for giving others hope and strength!

  3. Hi AngryGirl! I also didn't realize how common it is either! I wasn't sure what the reaction to my blog would be by readers - but there are so many of us going through the same thing.

I'm glad my story has helped put some perspective on your own situation. I never heard of NPD before and I think the more we can get our stories out there, the more people can get help!

  4. Does your mom have any idea that you created a blog about this illness & your journey to work through it?

  5. @Anonymous - My mother is aware of this blog - unfortunately I did not intend for her or any of my FOO to discover it. She has never said anything about it directly to me, but has left comments that were easy to spot (in other words, not very supportive). My sister has been much more direct in her dislike. My father must know, but has never asked me about it. Other family I never told about the blog have let me know that they are reading, but have thus far been either supportive, or at least respectful of how I am choosing to work through this.
